Description

This documentary looks at GlaxoWellcome's contribution to the fight against malaria in tropical Africa. It includes a detailed account of how malaria is transmitted from the mosquito to the human host and how communities can try to eradicate the disease including the introduction of bednets, dipped in insecticide. African women are shown sewing these and using them in their homes. We see a research programme in a Kenyan village and laboratory studies to locate the presence of malaria in the blood.
