About this work

Description

A vacuole is a membrane-bound organelle which is present in all plant and fungal cells and some animal and bacterial cells. Vacuoles are essentially enclosed compartments which are filled with water. The vacuoles are the orange structures within this image of a cell, they are surrouned by the endoplasmic reticulum (grey), mitochondria (pink) and the cell nucleus top left.
