Addison, Blacklock, Brady, Carter, Daniel, Denham, Doddridge, Merrick, Milton, Roscommon, Rowe, Sowden, Steele, Tate, Tollet, Watts, and Several Others; And adapted to Christian Worship, in a Form The most likely to give general Satisfaction; Particular Care having been taken throughout the whole Compilation, to seclude all exceptionable Words and Phrases, and to retain such only as sincere and candid Christians of various Sentiments and different Denominations may join in the Use of. To which is prefixed, a dissertation On Scripture Imprecations, With the View of vindicating the Sacred Writers in general, and the Psalmists in particular, against the heavy, but happily ill-founded Charge of indulging and countenancing a malevolent Spirit.
