About this work

Description

Transmission electron micrograph of two cells within the corneal stroma. The cell on the left is a monocyte which contains numerous organelles. A large nucleus is visible towards the bottom of the cell and a number of mitochondria can also be seen. Two centrioles are also visible towards the centre left of the cell and a Golgi apparatus towards the centre right. The keratocyte on the right has a large nucleus with a prominant nucleolus. Both cells are surrounded by type VI collagen matrix.
