About this work

Description

Confocal micrograph of part of a latex glove. Latex gloves are used in the laboratory to protect the hands from direct exposure to chemicals and biological organisms. In healthcare settings, gloves provide worker and/or patient protection. Natural rubber latex proteins can cause allergic reactions in some individuals. The colours in this image stem from the colour of the material (dyes and fluorescent proteins were not used). Width of image is 0.5 mm.
