About this work
Description
Conditions are established for the separate study of the systemic and pulmonary circulation by replacing the two heart ventricles with two blood pumps. The mechanical, nervous and humoral processes regulating the state of the two circulations can then be investigated without the complication of changes in cardiac output. The film depicts the method of making the preparation and illustrates a number of physiological responses.
