About this work

Description

This film follows an expedition to Saba in Borneo, funded by The Royal Society, The Wellcome Trust and The World Health Organisation, in which a team of medical researchers attempt to diagnose and eradicate the problem of malaria in the urang-utan population. It includes much footage of Borneo countryside and its wildlife population, focusing mostly of course on the orang-utans. We see how they screened the organ-utans for malaria parasites and then attempted to locate a new form of plasmodium, including much laboratory footage.
