Notes

Kerry-Anne Squares is originally from South Africa but born to British parents. She is a single mother who has been working for the Wellcome Trust Genome project. She originally came to the UK as an accountant but didn't like how it took over her life, so applied for a lab technician job, no experience necessary, and has worked her way up. On the plinth she is going to do "Balloon Blessings" where she will write the names of people she loves and send them good karma. She says that there are positives to living in both South Africa and England, she very much enjoys the arts in England but misses the animals and climate in South Africa. Kerry talks about her love of animals and talks in detail about different animals she owns. Kerry talks about her family, her son lives with her, but her daughter has chosen to live with her father since the two siblings do not get on. She talks about her difficult relationship with her husband, her friends and her sister who she is very close to.
