Description
Traces the events that led to France's compensation claim against the U.S.A. over the origin of the AIDS test. Attempts to unravel the complicated dispute between Dr. Robert Gallo (U.S. virologist) and the Institut Pasteur, up to the point at which an enquiry into the National Institutes of Health's promotion of Dr. Gallo's claim cleared him of any formal misconduct but left open the question of who should have the credit for originating the AIDS test.
