About this work
Description
ALCHEMY: History. Short essay on the history of alchemy to the death of Paracelsus. Partly written on sheets of note-paper of various sizes and colours, and partly on sheets of a printed 'Testimonial' dated 1853-54 in favour of Heckethorn's 'Patent Ground Colour.' The main text seems to have been written c. 1855, but the Index, and the last 2 ff. are by a later hand: on the verso of fol. 52 is the date 1863.
