This part features an intensive care nurse, Julie Thompson, at City Hospital, Birmingham, who witnessed the miraculous recovery of a young man with a severe head injury. It also features the story of a clinical geneticist, Norman Nevan, who encouraged his patient, John Stephenson, severely disabled with cerebral palsy to write his life story.
