First in a three-part series in which NHS workers tell about the most unforgettable moments of their working careers. This part features an intensive care nurse, Julie Thompson, at City Hospital, Birmingham, who witnessed the miraculous recovery of a young man with a severe head injury. It also features the story of a clinical geneticist, Norman Nevan, who encouraged his patient, John Stephenson, severely disabled with cerebral palsy to write his life story.
