Notes drawn up for Nicolás León and used by him, with other material, in his paper on Noriega in the Gaceta Médica de México, 1915, 10, 3 ser., pp. 105-111, which also lists his published work.

Biographical note
Tomás Noriega [1854-1910] qualified as pharmacist in Querétaro in 1873. He qualified again at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina, Mexico City, in 1877, and as physician-surgeon in 1879. He served as Deputy Professor of General Pathology from 1887, as Secretary of the Escuela Nacional de Medicina until 1901 when he was appointed to the Chair of the History of Medicine, and as Director of the Hospital de Jesús (1902-10). He was member of many medical societies both national and international, and travelled extensively. His paper, Importancia de la historia de la medicina appeared in the Gaceta Médica de México, 1903, 3, 2 ser., pp. 137-143.
