Lydia Barram is originally from Australia but has lived in Ireland and now lives in London. She enjoys the history and "richness" of England but misses the weather in Australia, he previously worked in finance but didn’t enjoy it and left (during the recession) and decided to get another job. Her dream job was publishing and she fortunately came across a job through a friend to become an editorial assistant. She works for a company that publishes children's books, which she loves and she hopes to get to the top of the ladder in her career, working in books for all ages. On the plinth she is going to read from a new book her company is promoting called "Hush Hush" since she wants to encourage children to read, she will also be campaigning for gay marriage in Australia as this is an issue that is important to her as she has friends in Australia who want to marry but can't. She says that the things that are most important to her are family, especially because they are so far away, and books.
