Notes

Stephen Frederick Hopkins lives in Herefordshire but was originally from Romford. He has been a television producer for the past 35 years and has worked on a huge number of programmes, documentaries and films for Granada. He gives an account of his working life and how British television has changed. He is a Buddhist and follower of the Dali Lama. On the plinth he is going to send a message to 2 countries that need our help, Tibet and Burma. Also talks about what is happening there socially/culturally/historically. His father was a soldier in the Burmese war.
