About this work

Description

Dissertatio de respiratione in qua ostenditur finis elus principalis hactenus incognitus opinionibus tum veterum tum modernorum recensitis et refutatis. This 'Dissertatio' which is possibly holograph has not been traced in the bibliographies, nor has the author been definitely identified. In the 'English-speaking students of Medicine at the University of Leyden', 1932 by R. W. Innes Smith, two Woods are entered 'Wood (Sylvius) Nataniel Hybernus' [1660-1701] who obtained his M.D. at Leyden in 1687: and 'Wood (Sylvius) Robertus, Scotus' [1664-1727]. The latter is stated to have been 'M.D. Univ. unknown', M.A. Edinburgh, 1685. Of St. Andrews, Fife, married in 1695. Will 1727.
