Finding aids

Database description transcribed from S.A.J. Moorat, Catalogue of Western Manuscripts on Medicine and Science in the Wellcome Historical Medical Library (London: Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine, 1962-1973).

Ownership note

This MS. formed part of the F[rederick] Bacon Frank [1827-1911] MSS., described in the Appendix to the Sixth Report of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts, 1877, by A[lfred] J[ohn] Horwood [1821-1881], C. 1745, pp. 448-465. It does not appear to have been separately entered in this catalogue. At the beginning of his account of the Johnston MSS., Horwood states (p. 448a) 'Johnston's handwriting is rather small and difficult to read': this is certainly true of the present MS.
