About this work

Notes

"Have you ever lost control of your body? Those little twitches before falling asleep are an example of loss of control. Ever lost control of the words coming from your mouth? Have you ever shouted to everyone in a store a little song you just wrote? Meanwhile, your family is rolling your wheelchair and you out of the store quickly. Many people think they are in control of their body, I did too. I was a good wife, mother and land steward. Overnight I was struck with seizures, daily, multiple times a day. As many as ten a day, at first. They were extremely violent and scary for me and my family. I wear an alarm bell, so that I can call for help. Numerous times my tall, strong child carries me in from the car or to my bed from the floor. I am dependent on a walker, wheelchair and a strong husband and children. Eleven months later I still have seizures daily and lose my ability to speak for as long as two days. My hair is shaved off so that I cannot pull it. I have lost forty pounds. I have FND and PNES."--from back cover.
