Notes

A fan photograph of Douglas Byng circa 1950 in one of his numerous cabaret performances, where with the aid of a few props, new characters could be created in a jiffy. He wrote all his own material, including comic songs relying heavily on double-entendre and innuendo of a sexual nature that were considered extremely risqué, and some of which achieved the distinction of being 'banned by the BBC'
