Description

Anonymous collection of post-Byzantine iatrosophia containing instructions for diagnosis and phlebotomy, various recipes of composite drugs (generally structured a capite ad calcem), spells, short texts on auspicious days and on dream interpretation, moon-tables, and zodiacal tables. The text is not clearly organised and the original order of the leaves remains uncertain.

Purchased on behalf of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at Sotheby's sale, London, 17 February 1936, lot 97 (accession number 69261).

Hand note

Unidentified post-Byzantine hand.
