Description
Series consists of papers, correspondence, photographs and cassette tapes related to the seminar on "Thrombolysis", which was held at the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL on 28 January 2003. The seminar was part of the Wellcome Witnesses to Twentieth Century Medicine meetings also known as the Witness Seminars. Unlike most other seminars, the transcript of this seminar was not published. However an edited and annotated extract from the seminar did appear as Appendix 3 in Volume 23 of the Witness Seminar series, L.A. Renolds and E.M. Tansey (editors), The Recent History of Platelets in Thrombosis and Other Disorders, (London: Wellcome Trust, 2005).
The witnesses for the seminar were; Professor Jennifer Adgey, Professor Sir Christopher Booth, Dr Hewan Dewar; Professor Sir Richard Doll; Professor John Hampton; Dr Arthur Hollman; Professor Desmond Julian; Dr Robin Norris; Professor Brian Pentecost (Chair); Professor Tom Quinn; Dr Roger Smith; and Professor Andrew Stevens.
The editors of the published transcript were L.A. Renolds and E.M. Tansey with an introduction by Professor Tom Meade.
The meeting organisers were Robert Arnott and Dr Daphne Christie.
