Notes

Jan Fairley lives in Edinburgh but is originally from Birkenhead. Has spent three years teaching in Chile, in Santiago and elsewhere. She described how she knew people who had disappeared or been abducted and killed during the coup of 1973. She is an ethnomusicologist and will be taking up a selection of poems and songs onto the plinth to dedicate to those who were killed or who went missing, not only people she knows but also those who she has never met.
