About this work
Description
A supplement to 子玄子産論 (Shigenshi Sanron) written by Kagawa Genteki (1739-1779), and published in 1775; Genteki (1739-1779) was the pupil and adopted son of Kagawa Gen’etsu, the author of Shigenshi Sanron. This supplement relies on extensive clinical practice and observation but also includes traditional practices such as massage of the abdomen, which Genteki considered to be of value. Amongst the additional topics tackled are fetal death, lactation and diagnosis of twin fetuses. Genteki, who came from Akita in northern Japan, later became a doctor in the employ of the Awa Tokushima domain, which rewarded him for the publication of this book.
