Benedictine nuns were brought from Val de Grâce near Bièvres to assist in the new Abbey Royale du Val de Grâce, which was to serve as a military hospital

Lettering note

Lettering continues: "et achevé en 1665. François Mansart fut le premier architecte qui y travailla et le conduisit jusqu'au rez de chaussée; le muet lui succeda ayant sous lui le duc de Duval, et c'est dans une chapelle de cette eglise que reposent les cœurs des roys, reines, princes et princesses de la maison royale"
