It shows the disease location for zouma ju (galloping sore), also known as zouma ya ju (galloping dental sore). The symptoms are sepsis of the gum, which becomes black, putrid and fetid. As the disease advances, the gums rot away, and the infection eats through the cheek and destroys the lips. The disease owes its name to the rapidity with which it progresses.
