If Dumont is the name of the painter, it may refer to François DuMont, a historical painter in Brussels and Paris during the nineteenth century, rather than to the miniaturist François Dumont (1751-1831). The Brussels painter exhibited at Ghent and Antwerp in 1870, and at the Paris Salon in 1884 and 1885. An oil painint by him of figures praying before a crucifix is in the Wakefield Art Gallery (Hepworth Wakefield)
