About this work

Description

The Magdalen Hospital for reformed prostitutes was founded by Robert Dingley and Jonas Hanway, among others, in 1758 at Whitechapel. The Hospital was so successful that it moved to these larger purpose-built premises in 1772. The Hospital closed in 1868 and moved to Streatham
