Description
The Wellcome Trust have given a grant to Salisbury District Hospital to research a condition in men known as Fragile X syndrome. It is caused by the expansion of DNA and results in their having lower than average IQ's. Dr Sheila Ewing, a research fellow on the project, has tried to identify positive sufferers among school children in Wiltshire. Professor Jacobs hopes that the research will also discover the causes of other gentic anomalies.
