About this work
A small white dog (?) sleeps on the verandah. The men display the usual accoutrements of the ascetic life: saffron robe and loincloth, beads and asho (wooden handrest), but the picture is otherwise filled with signs of plenty: two bowls of fruit are placed before the men; the background is a large tree laden with fruit, some of which have fallen to the ground; fish are seen swimming in a river and in a lake, where lotus blossoms float; on a distant hilltop stands a palace
