Genu valgum. Knees held in an over-corrected position by means of splints The lettering is hand-written onto the mount in silver pen Two dotted lines have been drawn onto the print at the top and base of the leg The photograph is numbered 2 on the mount

The photograph is part of a collection presented to the Wellcome Institute Library by Rev. John P. Caton B.D., on 26th January 1989. The photographs were taken by Caton's late wife, Margaret Jane Seymour Caton when she worked as a nurse at St Nicholas' and St Martin's Orthopaedic Hospital, Pyrford, Surrey, between 1935 and 1937. The hospital was later known as the Rowley Bristow Hospital
