Description

Colour medical illustration indicates normal base of the spine and the site of the ano-rectal ring. Next, abnormalities are outlined. A patient's buttocks are prepared for surgery (close-up, the patient is not seen). The anus is opened to expose the haemorrhoids. The patient has wadding applied (male patient; genitals clealy seen).
