About this work

Description

Speculum astrologicum de interrogationibus R. P. Orrighetti, cum Corollariis Johannis Baptistae de Rocca pro explanatione artis. De significatione duodecim domorum. Compendium de quaestionibus. With other astrological notes and tables. The title is within an ornamental pen-drawn border: there are two horoscopic figures in the text. G. B. de Rocca's name has been struck through on the title. The 'De interrogationibus' is very carefully written, possibly by Rocca, and has many marginal notes in his current script. On the verso of the last leaf of this work, is the beginning of another headed 'Instruttione del P. Orighetti sopra l'operatione del P. Titi.' This has been wholly struck through, but is to be found complete in the other volume of Rocca's astrological transcripts (MS. No. 4232) which is dated 1698. The present MS. is called 'Pars prima' on the title-page. At the end of the MS. are copies of two letters on astronomical matters from Giacomo Filippo Maraldi [1665-1729] to Paris Maria Salvago [ -1745], the first dated Paris, 28 October, 1712, the second Paris, 11 October 1710. Produced in Genoa.
