Poster advertising the appearance of "Admiral Tom Trump" ( the stage name of Jan -or Jean -Hannema, born in Franeker, Friesland, Holland, in 1839-1878) in some sort of variety show organised by William Holland at the pleasure gardens at North Woolwich in the east of London in August 1875. Admiral Tom Trump was advertised as the smallest man in the world with a height of 26 inches and a weight of 26 pounds. He could also speak five languages fluently. He toured Europe, visiting all the royal courts, imitating Tom Thumb, until his retirement and died in 1878. The Royal North Woolwich Gardens and Theatre was an earlier name for the Royal Pavilion there. The poster also exists as a 'blank' lacking details of Trump's name and the place he was appearing.
