Creator/production credits

Accompanied by a similar watercolour signed by Wirgman (Wellcome Library no. 569931i). Wirgman went to China in 1857, covering the Second Opium war as artist and correspondent for the Illustrated London news. There he met Felice Beato, whose photographs accompany the present watercolour in an album
