Notes

Jon Quirk lives in Birmingham but is originally from Southport. He was made redundant last month; he is an automotive journalist and works writing about cars and events in the car industry. He previously worked for Sky Motoring and will now go freelance. He is an only son with three sisters and has always been fascinated by cars, probably because his dad is an engineer and used to take him to car shows etc. Said this project was a 'visual time capsule' and wondered what it would be like to look back at himself, his appearance (he has quite a media 'look' -tight trousers with turn ups, tartan shirts and very big glasses) and other people and see how things had changed. On the plinth he will be eating Weetabix and drinking tea. Also brought a small table and chair with him and read the Times.
