About this work

Description

Cilioretinal artery occlusion is a blockage in one of the small arteries that carry blood to the retina. Retinal arteries and veins can become blocked when fatty deposits or a blood clot becomes stuck in them. Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) describes a blockage in the main vein supplying the retina. Both conditions can be investigated using retinal photography and in particular Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA). These diagnostic imaging techniques usually performed by a specialist photographer can help to pinpoint the location and assess the extent of the damage to the vessels and inform an appropriate course of treatment.
