Biographical note
"The genetics of a small autosomal region of Drosophila melanogaster, including the structural gene for alcohol deydrogenase" was a series of seven papers published in Genetics between 1979 and 1990. The first two papers were authored by Ashburner and R.C Woodruff and were published in 1979. The original third paper, authored by Ashburner, Woodruff and Camfield, was withdrawn in light of new data and a different third paper authored by Ashburner was published in 1982. The fourth paper was authored by Ashburner, S. Tsubota and R.C. Woodruff and was published in 1982. The fifth paper was authored by Ashburner, C.S. Aaron and S. Tsubota and was published in 1982. The sixth paper was authored by Ashburner, C. Detwiler, S. Tsubota and R.C. Woodruff and was published in 1983 and the seventh paper was authored by Ashburner, P. Thomson, J. Roote, P.F. Lasko, Y. Grau, M. El Messal, S. Roth and P. Simpson and was published in 1990.
