About this work

Description

Linked by the experiences and misgivings of a young man who eventually feels compelled to take the HIV test, this film compares the short- sighted assumptions that were originally made about AIDS with the present epidemic and the outlook for the end of the century. It sets out to convince young people that AIDS is a potential danger to everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion or geographical location. This is illustrated by reference to a widely representative selection of HIV positive people - an African family, an American gay policeman, and a British heterosexual woman, mother of two Children. The film draws to a tense conclusion with the young man who links its episodes awaiting the results of his HIV test. An unfinished story, provided it has engaged its audience, remains alive in the mind. One does not shut the book on it.
