Description

Large bound volume of 500 numbered pages, only pp. 1-347 used. Preceding index pages not completed. The first entry is a letter to Mr Perrédès (25 October, 1901). The final entry, to George E Pearson (7 November, 1914), begins by remarking that it is "the last report which I shall have the privilege of rendering as Director of the Chemical Research Laboratories".

Carbon copies of reports and internal and external correspondence. Includes some typescript reports from Dr H.A.D. Jowett. Also enclosures, e.g. "Memos from Mr Wellcome" (typescript copy) for April 1902.

The physical condition of the item is very poor, with many pages crumbling. The letter-book cannot be viewed (item therefore "Closed" pending conservation).
