Biographical note

SEQNET was a network of computers across academic sites in Britain, which provided computing facilities for molecular biology. It was funded by the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) and the central facility was established in 1988 at the Council's site at Daresbury. Ashburner sat on the SERC SEQNET Management Committee from 1988-1991.
