Photograph of an oil painting of Edward Jenner (1749-1823), English physician and pioneer of the smallpox vaccine. The painting was acquired at auction from Robinson, Fisher & Harding on 15th October 1931, Lot 31, and accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 18th January 1932 (CC 5620).
