Notes

Phil Bruce is an artist from Hitchin in Hertfordshire. He arrived late and is a little stressed as he was stopped by the police. He can't remember exactly how he heard about the project but he knows it was through his interest in Gormley's work. He initially thought it was a group project, but was not put off when he found out he would be on his own. He likes graffiti art and has been into drawing for a long time. He originally started drawing for creative reasons and now that his work is sold he feels his style is really developing. His inspirations include comic books, graffiti and urban art notably the Sao Paulo street artist Hamilton Yokota aka Titi Freak. He normally uses acrylic paints and pens but has started experimenting with spray cans. On the plinth he will be taking up a portrait that he has started for this project and hopes to finish it up there. Initially he wanted to start and finish the painting on the plinth, but decided to prepare some of it before hand to ensure he does a good job.
