About this work

Description

Colour-enhanced, transmission electron micrograph of a migrating lymphocyte with a large nucleus, lysosomal granule and several prominant mitochondria. It appears to be attached to an intact collagen fibre with its component fibrils seen in transverse section at the top right corner of the micrograph. The cell is in a region of degenerate matrix in a degrading schlera. The lymphocyte is approximately 0.5 microns in length.
