Description

Deer tick embedded in skin of leg. A tick (Ixodes Ricinus) attached to the leg of a man. These ticks are approximately 2.5mm long and can transmit Lyme disease to humans. They are also known as Deer or Castor Bean ticks. The head of the tick can be seen embedded in to the skin. Ticks are common in urban locations, typically parks and fields.
