Description
Including a letter to the French consul at Valencia on Mediterranean geology, a letter acknowledging the award of the Copley medal by the Royal Society and letters in favour of Wilhelm Weber and Johann Poggendorff, Louis Agassiz, the widow of Etienne Geoffroy St Hilaire, and others.
The recipient of item 46 (dated 3 July 1855 and addressed to 'Monsier l'Inspecteur Général') is believed to be the French Army Surgeon Jean-Louis-Geneviève Guyon (1794-1870).
