Description

Interior of a crypt lit by an oil lamp. A woman on the left, dressed in blue and gold, points to the centre, where another woman is about to descend a staircase and enter the room. In the foreground, nine women pray. Around the crypt are four large tombs decorated with bas-reliefs showing armour, weapons, and a shield containing the fleur-de-lys. Above, fourteen busts in niches, including two of men wearing crowns. The vault is centred on a prominent boss. Tombs of the Crusaders?
