Covering continued work at the hospital at Yakusu, the Brownes' vegetable garden, concerns about letters not getting through and late arrival of letters sent to him, enquiries about war rationing, Mali learning language, visits to Yalemba, leper colony, Christmas 1941, visits to Yalikina, health and activities of Winifred, events at the hospital, problems with white ants, Mali's pregnancy in May 1942 - due in October, Mali's activities with the girls school in the village in Yakusu, staff of the hospital, news of the 'grandson' Derek, reactions to Derek at Yakusu, missionary work, family news, various midwifery cases. Also, letter from Mali to 'father and Nellie' re first months of marriage and settling in at Yakusu, with a bit by Stanley at end, and one other letter just from Mali.
