Notes

Jeremy Maurice Wood comes from Newcastle upon Tyne. He is an ex-engineer who took early retirement and now teaches English as a second language and runs community based programmes from his church. Faith is very important and wants to develop it more. He would like to promote peace, anti-war and also peace within oneself. His time on the plinth will be split into four sections: Act 1 - chance to set up and introduce himself, talk about Newcastle, Lake District. Act 2 - promote peace and will read a few psalms, praying for the countries and victims of war. Act 3 - entitled "the world" he has a lot to do with people who learn English from all different parts of the world. So he will wear shirts from the people who have given him them. Act 4 - Finale - invite people to text/phone other countries - see how far afield he will get a text.
