About this work

Description

The Accidebt and Emergency Unit in Neville Hall Hospital in Abergavenny has to deal with virtually unlimited demands on its limited resources. Dr Nick Jenkins, a Senior Consusltant, thinks that long term planning is essential to ease the burden on the NHS. Modern medicine has increased expectations of better treatment. The crisis in funding calls for prioritisation. At Merthyr Tydfil, Consultant Physician Dr Terry Morris, has opened a new A&E ward in the Prince Charles Hospital to cope with the winter emergencies. Over a third of those surveyed thought the waiting time in A&E units in hospitals, too long.
