About this work

Description

"This is the second mid-Covid edition of Scopio Moon, and whilst #9 was published shortly after the UK went into lockdown in March 2020 (and most of the text was written before Covid was even a thing), this issue chronicles my life over the past nine or ten months since the pandemic started. It has been a weird and surreal time, marked by cycles of intense emotions: anger, rage, fear, frustration, sadness; and then joy, excitement, peacefulness, contentment, quietude - and back again. Although I can't wait for the future post-vaccination time when I can be out in the world again, I've also gotten into a pretty good lockdown routine: going outdoors every day, cooking tasty food, sea-swimming, morning meditation, walks outside or games online with friends. In this zine I write a lot about feeling closer to nature and being outdoors more; about cold-water swimming and the political dimensions of loneliness and my plans to spend less money in 2021. I write about my dreams for the future, my ever-present rage at governments and capitalism, and my favourite YouTubers and podcasters."--From page 1.
