Description

Hand-drawn illustration using ink and watercolour on paper. 'The Physiotherapist' depicts a female patient lying on her back on a table, while her leg is being stretched and manipulated. Following hip-replacement surgery, the artist recorded her experiences and emotions during her post-operative recovery. After suffering with pain and difficulties with walking both before and after surgery, the artist visited a physiotherapist who prescribed various exercises and performed some surprising manipulations.
